Forum Thread: Safestrap or Substitutes

I have heard a few good things on the developer forums but was wondering if anyone here uses Safestrap. I am not a programmer but want to root my tablet. Is Safestrap overkill and should I use a substitute?

Yes, you will hear certain developers talk a lot about Safestrap.

It was initially developed for Motorola phones because they used encrypted bootloaders. Safestrap was necessary in such a "brick-intensive" environment to protect the users (and developers) from ruining their phones.

I would recommend you DO NOT use Safestrap especially if you are not a developer. For the N7 you can use any custom recovery method and flash away.
